Key Roles & Responsibilities

Supports the Academic Governance Office in the following areas:

  • Manage and provide secretariat support for key University committees, including the preparation of agenda, attendance of meetings, drafting of meeting minutes and circulars, monitoring the follow-up on actionable items and managing all other committee matters including membership nominations of various University committees.
  • Support the development and drafting of policy positions and papers on new academic, research and policy initiatives.
  • Support the framework for faculty appointments and faculty development.
  • Monitor and review the key quality indicators for constituent colleges to review its degree programmes.
  • Plan and co-ordinate the processes for periodic external quality review of degree programmes.
  • This is an individual contributor role that reports to Assistant Director, Academic Governance Office.
Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree or Master's degree from an established university.
  • At least 12 years and above or equivalent of relevant experience in an Institute of Higher Learning, and strong academic policy and governance knowledge in an education environment.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Strong ability to think critically and analytically, with a keen eye for detail.

NAFA – forward deployed to NAFA

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The role of a school counsellor is important to help students navigate their educational journey and personal growth, and provide the support they need to succeed both academically and emotionally. You will be forward deployed to NAFA and your key roles and responsibilities include:

  • Providing one-on-one counselling support for students’ mental health and social-emotional development.
  • Working with staff and students in providing direct crisis interventions.
  • Referring students and their families to community resources or external professionals where needed.
  • Conferencing with staff, parents and external professionals/agencies on students being counselled.
  • Maintaining confidential case consultation records.
  • Planning and conducting training for staff on pertinent mental health issues and skills for first-line intervention and support.
  • Developing and conducting small and large group psycho-educational sessions for students on mental health issues and coping strategies.
  • Developing and/or making available mental health resources for students, parents and staff.
  • Preparing counselling statistics/data for reporting to senior management and government agencies
  • Provide secondary support for in-house student events and activities such as Orientation, Convocation and other ad hoc activities.
Requirements
  • Minimum Master’s Degree in Counselling from an established university.
  • At least 3 years and above or equivalent of relevant working experience in counselling work involving youths and adults.
  • Must have a flair, understanding and patience to work with students.
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) and good interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Familiar with MS Office software and must be IT savvy
